Akita Truth - Japanese or American?

There was a video up here before about the difference between American and Japanese Akitas that got removed so I have made my own. Here is more information to look at. I personally own one of each and I would love people to stop getting them mixed up or saying there is no difference between them!

Many American Akita's are misold as "Japanese". Reading the breed standard will clear up any confusion.

If it has a black mask, it is not Japanese. Pure bred Japanese do not carry the black mask gene.

American Akita's come in all Japanese colours, so it could be Japanese coloured and still be an American.

Both dogs are unique and beautiful!
