(Sorry for the bad quality of the video, it was shot with a camera)
The workers of Amonsito company had been helding a sit-in in front of the Maglis es-Shura (Senate), Downtown Cairo, since two weeks. They were protesting because the companys managment and the government didnt respect the agreement they had reached in March, after the closing of the factory : instead of the 106 millions EP of severance pay which were agreed on, only 50 millions EP are now available for the workers.
Yesterday (May 23rd), around 200 of the Amonsito protestors decided to march to the Maglis es-Shaab (Peoples assembly), where they demonstrate for maybe 15 minutes, being progressively surrounded by the police. Then they broke the police line, started to run towards the Bank Misr, where they consider their money is being kept. Some of the protesters were beaten by the police, and at least 6 of them got arrested. One protester fainted (end of the video).
