Washington, DC (3/24/09) - Cherry blossom watching is a tradition in the nations capital. This drive-by video report was filmed Tuesday morning. The cherries are budding but not blooming - give them another week. Both NPR and Ed Shultz provide background radio talk. Shultz interviews writer Donovan Campbell, author of "Joker One." The White House, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial and Tidal Basin are hot spots for cherry trees and featured in the video. Many thanks to the Japanese for the many beautiful cherry tree gifts.
