Yeah, true. I can understand that, but one thing about that moment in Evolution of the Daleks really bugs me. Sure he was willing to die to save the remaining population of Hoovervile, but he didn't really think about Martha. How was she meant to get back to her home in the present, without him?

It's so true, he just wants peace really, but it's so hard because people will always be people so he's forced to fight. It's such a great storyline, this show.

Well, I don't think it's literally that he's begging to be killed...but he figures that as he's lost people he's loved, and he's seen the universe, and as he's lived long enough, if he has to die to save the rest of the world, to give everyone else a chance, he's willing to.
