Angular momentum is generated predominantly by the mid or torso of the body. There is a little lower body momentum generated as in the first video (knee through and push or extend), as well as a little upper body momentum (shoulder push) as in the second video, but most of the momentum is generated simply by weight shifting or leaning through your turns.
