  • Pollini is my Idol! Try the documentary "Maurizio Pollini e la sua musica" on YouTube!

  • "Maurizio Pollini e la sua musica" is in Italian, but still, a very interesting account on arguably the greatest pianist performing now.

Pollini's interpretative power is immaculate. He makes me love a lot of composers whose works I did not find that interesting before. Yea, that's where his greatness lies! Focus on the composer and music, not the pianist!

  • What a fantastic interview, I love his views, as I agree with a lot of them. He plays so beautifully.

Grazie a costoro (...tutti..) possiamo godere dellka nostra amattissima arte..

  • Respect

  • wat the hell is the banging crap at 3:23

  • Pollini should be made a Senator for Life! He is a truly great Italian.

  • @himitsunosallychan ashkenazy is up there with gilels and horowitz.

  • Grazie Maestro!!!

  • The only thing I don't agree with him is the idea of tenacious reverence to the text, obliging to the genius-artist-prophet This allows nothing to the fact that music becomes alive only through its performance, and therefore deserves to be interpreted - badly or beautifully - for an audience, who nowadays still goes to concert to hear the 10,000th performance of Tchaikovsky's 1st piano concerto, expecting the old ritualistic, never changing, ever repeating bedtime story. That's no progress ;-)
