Yes, this is the way i have done for 4 years to bleed the air pockets out of the cooling system.

The small leakage is very hard to detect it. The most of problems points out to be the expansion tank. BMW designed the expansion tank lasting for 70 to 100K miles. Let the car sit for whole night and open the radiator cap and listen to the hiss coming form the cap. If no hiss, may be expansion tank because when it cracks, tiny crack, it releases the pressure over night. That is all I can think about it. The leakage can come from hoses, seal, exhaust heat, cylinder head etc.Do pressure test last

where is the screw that you open after you have driven the car for a couple of miles?

My coolant level has dropped with no signs of visible leakage in the engine bay or on the ground. Any ideas?
