http://theparadiddler.com Unquestionably the most fun song I've covered so far! I loved it. I hope you enjoy my little variations as I tried to make it my own while still trying to sound like Taylor Hawkins. Let me know what you think!

  • Omar, a good cover but I get so uncomfortable watching you play - I can't imagine how uncomfortable it actually is for you playing. You need to get your cymbals closer to you man - you are having to reach so far away to hit them it's not good for your flow. There are some good dvds out there that talk about drum kit setup and how each part should flow from one to the next to work with the way our bodies are designed to move - it may have been Jojo's dvd? Either way, I suggest you have a watch.

  • @WillTheDill Hi Will.

Thanks very much for the observations! I'm always tinkering with cymbal positioning, but I'm not as uncomfortable as it looks to you. I'm still trying to determine the best place for the cymbal to my left; any lower and I sometimes accidentally hit it while playing on the 8" tom. So for me it's more a matter of control than cymbal placement. Thanks again!

  • @devwhit The DR07 is just a digital pocket stereo recorder, but it supposedly does a passable job of picking up drums. I would be willing to guess that it would do about 10 times better than most video cameras. I'm probably going to pick one up pretty soon myself :D

  • @LukeSnyderMusic Thanks for the kudos and the suggestion! I will definitely check it out. I'm aiming to 'perfect' recording on the cheap before going to the next level (reason to be revealed at my web site in due time :) ), but FOR SURE I'll check out the DR07. Thanks!

  • Nice one Omar! You should invest in some recording equipment though ;) I would check out the Tascam DR07, I've heard really good things about it, and its a cheap and easy fix until you get a serious interface and mics going :D
