you are a real THINKER man,,,keep up that habit .THANK YOU. God bless

the more accurate way is use dial incator and a degree wheel is 100%

what do you do once the oil in in the cylinder? Is it bad for the engine? how do you get it out?

Another good way is to weld a spacer to the bottom of a spark plug , so that it hits the piston at about 20 degrees before top dead centre when you rotate the engine . Mark this piont then rotate the engine the other way till it hits again . Mark this piont too , and tdc will be exactly in the middle of the two marks . Very acurate ( just be carefull that your spacer doesnt hit the valves as they open )

What about putting GAS in there?

Great idea! Nice and simple.
I made the same drilled out spark plug to find TDC on my Datsun Roadster. Instead of pumping oil into the cylinder, I had a small baby-food jar of oil, and a clear tube from the plug to the jar. As the piston goes up on the compression stroke, it blows bubbles in the jar of oil. Once TDC is reached, bubbles stop, and after TDC, the oil will begin to be drawn into the tube. No Smoke

lol...this is a good way...but you dont need to put oil in the cylinder....just make a W in the hose with oil in the hose and measure it that way...it the same exact thing but there is no smoke and oil to clean or get rid of...but this still works i suppose haha
