These two claim that tariffs were the issue that lead to southern states to secede. Really. Then why do the Articles of Secession for states such as Georgia, Mississippi and Texas speak directly and specifically to the issue of slavery while South Carolina in a more indirect way also speaks of slavery. It takes about 5 minutes of research; if you can even call it that.
