We are actually commanded to watch and an not be caught unaware of the coming of THAT day. The "surprise" is for the foolish; those asleep!

6000 years? Ok, now explain the cave drawings, pottery shards, and firepits found in caves dated at over 20,000 years old.
-
No it won't be 21 more before the sedond coming of Christ that's just not what the Bible says sorry but you need to do some more reading brother.

If you look BACK you see numbers especially the number 7 or munbers with 7 in it--like 70 years weeks, etc. I notice it was 70 years for the soviet union, 70 years for slavery in the US post constitution, 70 years for jim crow 1896-1966--there is also 3 types of spine, 7 cervical disks (neck) 12 thoriacic disks (back) and foundation disks (lumbar) 12 disks represent music, since humans are the only ones who have the ability to sing in tune---sunday is the' 8th 'day actually

@SylentWonder, You're right. No one knows the day. But these are just educated guesses. The 6000th year according to the Bible is either from 1996 (according to Ussher) until about 2070-2090, according to other theologians. Also, the hebrew year is not 360 days. It's 365. The only time the Bible uses a 360 day year is when the "Seventy Sevens" Prophecy was given. The tribulation period is a few days shorter than 7 years.

I did!
"No one knows when that day or hour will come-not the angels in heaven, nor the Son, BUT ONLY THE FATHER". - Matthew 24:36
New Standard Version.
You truly have no idea when the world will end, in the same way that you have no idea what you will eat a year from now. No-one but God knows. That is what the Bible says, it is as simple as that. No need to complicate things. Just be prepared. Read the verse again. That is all.

Err, hasn't god used up his 7 days in Genesis already?
Another example of the almost funny stupid stuff people can come up with while quote mining the bible and inventing new facts out of thin air. Bravo!

the bible does so say that, in daniel and revelation
genesis 6:3 - for all you english bible studiers who are relying on the foggy english language, in the hebrew it says "Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with [a] man forever, for he is mortal ; his days will be a hundred and twenty SHABUA." "shabua" is translated as jubilee years, sets of 50, equaling 6000 years. One of the many instances in which he tells us his plans.

I was Paraphasing what the bible said in Mark 13: 32 and it reads: "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Correct, He said, "No one knows about that day or hour .. "
And that's what He meant!
