As a result of privately funded research by the Whittemore Peterson Institute ( http://www.wpinstiture.org ) the prestigious medical journal "Science" recently published a study which showed that 67% of severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sufferers tested had the XMRV Retrovius (xenotropic murine leukaemia virus-related virus) in their blood cells, as opposed to only 3.7% of healthy control subjects.

Further studies on the XRMV Retrovirus in ME/CFS patients have found that a staggering 95% of sufferers have antibodies to this retrovirus!

Dr Donnica Moore, eidtor and chief of "Womans Health for Life" had this to say about the Whittemore Peterson Institute's ME/CFS retrovirus studies:

"This study shows us first and foremost, most importantly, ... there is a biologic basis for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. So we dont want to hear any more about 'oh they have depression" or 'its all in their heads'. That arguement is over."

  • "This argument is now over..." Unfortunately Dr. Donnica is full of shit.

  • Wouldn't it be lovely if the CDC actually did some physiological research instead of doing genetic studies that apply inappropriate psych labels based on flimsy hypothetical bases and w/o corresponding supporting psychometric data in a biased attempt to "associate" ME/CFS with psych causation and show some inherent defect in the patient as being responsible for the illness. It's a nice thought to wish the CDC would take this research and run with it but that has not been the modus operandii.

  • @FibroBeth

One thing you have to keep in mind is that people who are susceptible to these infections proliferation have metal issues and most likely GI issues of some sort, and that it opens the door to any infection that you come across, they can systemically break your defenses with synergy as well, there's -always- co-infections, borellia, mycoplasma, the list is extensive. But of course without chelation of metals you can't truly get rid of them, chelation has been the best for me so far.

  • CDC as usual did not find XMRV in their CFS cohort but NIH/FDA did and their paper has been held back. FDA/NIH XMRV CFS ME study "The authors truly believe they have an even strongerpaper than they submitted, and I think we all will be pleased when it finallypublishes." Wanda Jones. Dr. Wanda Jones is the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Healthin the Office of Public Health and Science (OPHS), , she has said that HHS ...is not holding the study back &it will now soon be

    published

  • @glaubehoffnungliebe8 umm noo, AIDS is caused by a sexually transmitted virus HIV, if it was a toxic chemical then the highest rates of it would be in developed countries and not among the poor and most sexually promiscuous, go away with your fake science

  • Many chronic diseases (AIDS, MCS, CFS, FM, ME, Cancer and so on) are caused by toxic chemicals.

  • I have fibro and have for 10 years, but I'm not sure I'm buying this yet.

  • Please calm down. While it is too early in this stage of the game to say it is causal, the subsequent testing found that the virus was actually in almost 100% of the CFS test samples. Not the original 67% as first believed.

Wishing this horrible disease on other people is not something I think you really want.

  • Nimblened, you really knock yourself out of the realm of reason when you engage in such vicious language and personal insults. Your viewpoint is considered garbage.

  • This is a huge breakthrough. I am sorry you are so full of bitterness. I hope some day we both can look back at this moment and appreciate its significance, while being given effective treatment for our conditions.
