Alfa Romeo UK is midway through a promotion in major English and Scottish cities along with a TV campaign that is bringing the classic Space Invaders arcade game to life in a UK interactive first in order to highlight the launch of the Alfa MiTo MultiAir.
As part of the launch of its technologically advanced new MiTo MultiAir models, and to mirror its new TV advertising campaign, the Italian manufacturer is beaming a giant projection of the ever-popular game onto buildings across the country for the public to play. The highest score achieved in each of the seven UK cities will win an iPod Touch.
The new MiTo MultiAir range boasts a substantial increase in fuel efficiency and a significant decrease in CO2 emissions, so just like the accompanying TV advert, the public will use an Alfa MiTo to skilfully destroy the 'invaders' - which are represented as fuel pumps and toxic barrels - with lasers fired from its headlights. The giant game, which is operated by using a 42" High Definition touch screen, is the first interactive gaming projection in the UK.
The Alfa MiTo MultiAir range introduces the 1.4-litre 135 bhp Alfa MiTo Lusso and Veloce, as well as the 170 bhp 1.4 Alfa MiTo Cloverleaf model complete with active suspension. All versions include Start&Stop technology.
Capable of reaching 62mph from a standing start in just 7.5 seconds, the range-topping Alfa MiTo Cloverleaf has a top speed of 136 mph and a striking combined cycle official fuel economy figure of 47.1 mpg. These high-tech MultiAir engines also produce amongst the lowest CO2 levels of all Alfa MiTo petrol models.
The MultiAir Space Invaders started in Brick Lane, London ten days ago (12-13 February), before heading to Glasgow last weekend (19 February). The 'tour' will now move on to Birmingham this coming weekend (26 February) before the final four cities comprise of Newcastle (5 March), Cardiff (12 March), Manchester (19 March) and Leeds (26 March). The projections are taking place between 4pm-10pm in all locations.

    That's called the skanklight,

It's so you can make sure your hookers don't chase after you when you kick them out of your car.

  • What with the back light in the back?

  • This TV advert also played on Greece.
