Wow. Ussualy "behind the scenes" material ruins whole magic illusion of movie, but not in this case! So much passion, creativity, emotions.
It's very thoughtful movie,masterpiece.

this is one of those movies where i have to force myself not to watch it over and over again so it won't become blasé. i have to have people physically restrain me when i try to listen to "llorando" out of context... this is one of my all time favorite films. it's the only movie i can think of where i actually laughed, cried, was scared shitless, and aroused. lots and lots of aroused. :P

Sometime you don't understand certain things but you still love them & would want to be with them forever, guess Mulholland Drive would be an epitome of it. I have first seen this film in 2001 & have been seeing it since then. Everytime i see it i discover something new & fall in love with it over & over again. Mr. Lynch, Thank You for giving such a film to us.

@aardvarksrock the cowboy scene, castigliani brothers...all that is part of diane's dream...do you know when you see something in your daily life, even if its for a breef moment, and at night you dream a whole story about that thing that has nothing to do with you? that's the same thing in the movie

David Lynch asserts there are no "loose ends" in this movie, and that it, of itself, tells a complete story. He even gives hints as to the story's secrets (Wikipedia it). I can buy that for all the interactions between Diane / Betty and Rita / Camilla, but I'm still confused about the the perspective of scenes without them (e.g., the Coyboy scene). Is that part of a dream, or reality?
In my top 10; top 5 actually.

it's for anyone that allows it to be.

anyone else find the parallel to the actual movie here amusing?

It is annoying to hear people say this movie makes no sense and that they hated it, but I wouldn't define these people as being soulless. To me, it's more about whether people can appreciate atmosphere, intriguing visuals, and audio without needing to hang on to some easily accessible plot. But, those people might just find other film elements more important than atmosphere, etc. I know that if I don't like an actor, or the acting, or the situations, that can turn me away from watching....

I love how meticulous he is about the scene on the stairs. The looks, the little smiles, when to focus on the hands. It's just a perfect scene. Beautifully tragic.

@aicfan85 I use this movie as a test to determine whether the person I am taking to is a soulless husk or a human being. Most are soulless husks.
