I'm probably going to do another shorter video focusing on the details of this Mnandi.

My first mammoth ivory Mnandi and she's a beauty. Sorry for all my pauses and ramblings, not my best video.

  • By the way, three titanium folders on Fort Henry and one on Steel Addiction ...just saying, "buy me, buy me"

  • @Dozierdork YES! They totally are. I'm thinking of selling my Mnandi to get one, maybe even one of my custom Emerson's.

  • @turbo311, I currently have three of Mr. Doziers folders (I've gotten lazy about making videos) and suggest you get one. There's a stag folder on ebay but unfortunately my budget says "no sir!". Such is life.

I've thinned the fixed blade herd a bit but somehow have more coming my way. I dig the hunt. The fact that they aren't always easily obtained kind of adds to the fun of them.

  • @Dozierdork Yeah the rarity is a good thing and a bad thing. I think Dozier fixed blades are the definitive American-style utilitarian fixed blades, with Tome Krein a close second just bc he's a little less traditional in design, and Murray Carter for Japanese style utility and forged steel instead of stock removal. All ridiculously sharp. And considering how good all those are I'm glad they can be found relatively easily and purchased for much less than $500.

  • Beautiful knife. I love mammoth ivory scales. I have a Dozier folder in mammoth and use it often. Thanks for putting this up!

  • @Dozierdork I've been wanting a Dozier folder for a long time, really like the new all titanium handle ones. I love his fixed blades and have since I started collecting knives. Just recently got the Bushcraft I ordered and found a stag KS3 on Steel Addiction two days ago! I'm trying to stop myself from buying the others they have in stock, and some other sites. Doziers pop up online in batches and then they're gone until next time. I wish they were easier to get.

  • @turbo311 I went straight from $40 Gerbers to $300, $400, $800 Doziers. I have yet to own other customs as I'm pretty loyal to Dozier, but have had the pleasure of handling Randalls to Herb Derrs work. Still stuck on Doziers. The craftsmanship is worth the money and their customer service is outright amazing.

I don't think you would miss the others if you sold them to acquire a Dozier folder.

That mammoth folder you have may be a keeper though bub;)

  • @turbo311 yep, the walnut scale wasn't as pretty as i wanted it to be ;D

  • @spsilvgo Yes, finally! I think you sold the one you bought from me right?

  • Beautiful. So you finally picked up another one :)
