DAVID KAPLAN'S 'TODAY'S SPECIAL' :: Indian Cuisine Theme For New Hollywood film

It is quite a melting pot - an American director, Indian actors, a New York restaurant and lots of spices. David Kaplan's forthcoming film, Today's Special is bound to whet your appetite

The film is written by Indian American Aasif Mandvi, who also plays the lead role of, Samir - a French sous chef who ends up at his dad's Indian restaurant.

Actor/Writer Aasif Mandvi says, It's a story of Samir, an Indian American, who dreams of becoming a French chef. He is about to go to France, when his father has a heart attack. So he is forced to look after his father's Indian restaurant in Jackson Heights. So its really about his journey back to the cuisine of his culture.............
