News Report about amulet business in Thailand.

Buddhism is Thailands major religious belief. The majority of Thais believe in the teachings of the Lord Buddha and pays respect to religious statues and figures, of relating to Buddhism.

Since, back in the ancient time, Thais believes that amulets with Buddha figures or blessing are to bring them protection and luck. The amulet being somewhat a good luck charm in ancient times has now become a thriving business in Thailand.

  • Dont ever buy them from the markets....Always get them from the Temple... whether its on the street or in a shop... Dont ever buy from markets.. because you don't know where they are from... they could say its from a temple... but how do you know? how do you know if it was blessed from a monk or not? there are alot of fake amulets out there... I take amulets very seriously myself because I am Buddhist too.. so I dont say this to be rude..

  • true, i remember back in thailand;s temple where buddha used to give out amulet for free and some for charity. Now it becomes million dollars business, which is wrong. I agree with u dats its an art, but to believe in magic and such, i dont agree to it.

  • The amulets are really cool and some real works of art, but I think they've gotten far too superstitious and out of hand lately...people saying they're "bullet proof" and can't be killed. A lot of it is faith, all in your mind. The mind has immense control over the physical body, more than most people realize, unless they do yoga and meditate. But Buddhism really isn't supposed to be about trinkets and worshipping "magic" images. It's against the anti-materialism taught by the Buddha.

  • Well done! :-)
