Active suspension in cars is more comfortable and provides a better roadability. The system can prevent a car from toppling over during swerving, or make for shock-free ambulance transport. Bart Gysen, PhD student at the Electromechanics and Power Electronics group, will be cruising campus in a blue BMW to test his electric shock absorber springs.

Sounds great but teh suspension will be more and more expensive with the magnets. Though their efficiency is really impressive !
