It's always in American self-interest to support majority rule in other countries since we have far less trouble with democracies than with less predictable dictatorships ot greedy stalinists like Saddam or Kim Il-Sung who get stupid and start wars with us they can't win due to anybody there with common sense being afraid to say no.

I'm a Republican. I didn't personal vote for President Obama but being Republican I'm not stupid enough to start a civil war with the current majority representative in my own country killing Americans and destroying our own property. The majority may not be right about everything all the time but it has the best odds winning any civil wars.

If it wasn't for America most of the world's population would have starved to death since we produce most of the global food supply. We give money to Muslim nations for oil. We found the oil fields and built the oil wells in the middle east almost all of the money any Muslim has today comes from.
