Heck it's beyond rural here--no asphalt even--and they hane made our new lives here a living hell--and we live on a bird sanctuary on a fjord --and swans and ducks are quiet---not.

I'd never heard of these ducks before--they are comical!You do all this on 1/3 of an acre? How about your neighbors--do they mind the crowing. We are much hated--like REALLY hated for our roosters. Legal problems.

Yes, only 1,500 m². If we had more land we would have more animals!LOL! Well, Austria is different, we respect nature a bit more, no problems over here with crowing cocks in rural areas. I say it´s totally unfair to complain about crowing (or barking, or whatever) on the one hand but tolerate real noise (i.e. traffic) on the other hand. Even rural roads have an ADT of well over 5,000 cars - that´s 208 cars per hour, that´s more than 3 cars per minute, let this sink in! Hence: let them crow!!!;-)
