Vlog #2: Facial Makeup

Its true, covering your skin with lots of products that have chemicals in them can reduce circulation, trap in oils and germs, as well as contaminate your skin with all the chemicals. This can be reduced on some level by following a few simple tips. This won't get rid of your acne, and covering your skin in any kind of chemically made, caked on product will most likely make your skin worse, not better!

1.Get something more natural. Buying an organic foundation, or something with more natural (white tea, apricot extracts, etc) ingredients will reduce the amount of chemicals your applying.
2.Use less products. Less is more, so if you can avoid the whole concealer, foundation, powder process on a daily basis, then do that.
3.Get a foundation or concealer that helps acne. Some products now days have ingredients that help reduce acne while covering at the same time. It can be more expensive, but worth it.
4.Always use a fresh sponge, or a clean foundation brush. Using old products that are caked and covered in bacteria won't help you at all. If you use your hands, make sure they're clean.
5.FOLLOW YOUR ROUTINE! Do your daily facial cleansing, toning, moisturizer, or any other products that you use. Skipping this will only make the chances of acne increase.
6.Remove the makeup. At the end of the day, make sure your removing all of the product.
7.Get a foundation meant for your skin type. Are you dry, combination, or oily?

Even with these steps, I still tend to break out. I usually get 3-4 new pimples at least when I try a new foundation, and when used 2-3 times a week I continually add on new ones. It really depends on your skin type and how sensitive your skin is. If the product makes your skin worse and worse, stop use! Sometimes there's just an "adjustment" stage. Even with the 3-4 pimples, I know that if I didn't follow the routine, my face would look a lot worse!
