  • The old house where we stayed in Govan is at 1.46 it was 711 Govan Road . The close was between Kennedys pub and McLarens newsagents. Is there anyway you can send me a copy of this photograph as we do not have any showing our old house.

  • thanks for the wonderful memories of my childhood

  • My grandpa was born in Eaglesham Street in 1893, his father owned a dairy on Paisley Road West. What happened to Eaglesham Street, I have a map produced round the late '80s and it was still down then. Now it has gone. When and why? Anyone know?

  • Fairfield Church @ 4:48 to 4:56.

Went to Salvation Army hall next door. Got skelves in ma bum playing crab football. Did not like the Cubs so I then

joined 105 BB and went on to become an officer.

Married my good wife in Fairfield Church on 14 Feb 1970.

Celebrating our Ruby anniversary this year. Rev Kenneth Stuart performed the ceremony.

George Robertson ( studio on Govan Road ) took the photographs.

    Great memories.

  • Great to watch again and again.

When I was about 10 me and a pal once helped a drunk man who was lying on the ground outside the Elder Bar ( just where it says Rab, Joe, Wullie (3:58)

He was ok, no damage done just the worse for drink.

We stood him against the wall but only got 10 yards away when he crashed to the ground and burst his nose open. I had to go into the pub and get help to take him to the Southern. moral of the story... don't act the good samaritan.
