He's a secular christian, if you will.

@OnkelStein I guess so if you were looking for a video to take out of context in order to show that Barack Obama hates religions.. other than that, yeah I totally agree
p.s. trollolol

@Pluvious13 Religion is an evolutionary adaptation to increase cooperation and reproduction chances, and serves as a costly identifier for those who can be trusted. Sorry if you don't get why that should change your expectations for the responses, given the inherent offensive nature of these comments towards these adaptations. Amen.

@techservant The first 3 minutes are the best.

As much as I would like to believe that I don't think it's true. Obama seems to be a christian @ heart and he has always admitted as much when asked. The thing that Obama also is however, is a secularist. But don't be so quick to jump the gap between secularism and atheism.

@techservant He gets better when he talks about freedom to have faith but the first 3 minutes are so bad its hard to keep listening.

So many straw men, so much Bible taken so far out of context, I am surprised he didn't turn into a pretzel.

@wingchun149 The only thing i can think of is lack of education suggesting otherwise

@raylucero100 It depends on your politics
People, please, please be sensible.
First of all, just because he has respect for non-christian religions does not make him an atheist.
Second of all, as somebody who does not have a faith, I was heartened that he was the only president in history to mention "non-believers" in his inauguration speech.
According to a recent poll, "non-believers" are the second-most-disliked "group" in America. This is highly disturbing.
So... please stop maligning us for not sharing your beliefs. Thank you.

@KnifeSniper69 "Did anyone even hear what he's saying?, he is a atheist @ heart, he is no Muslim or Christian"
He doesn't flaunt his religious beliefs so I can see why you would make your statements, but this was an incredibly impressive speech from a man who realises he must restrain his personal religious beliefs if he is to preside over a multi-religious, democratic nation, and he clearly outlined why he believed it would be best if all citizens also restrained the religious zeal.
