I was born in Hyden and was delivered by Margaret Hobson. She was Mary Breckenridge's head nurse aka midwife in 1955. Thanks for putting up this video, I truly enjoyed it!

This is my birth year. The only one I recognized was Elmer Begley. He was County Judge for some time. The land marks are familiar. I can barely remember the old Court House. Those are Midwives on horseback. Certainly remember those old school desks. Great to see this.

At 0:45, 2:56, 3:0, 3:04, and 3:19 in the video is my boys grandpa, Dan Woods, son of Alex and Martha Wooton Woods. He was fresh out of the army and had gone back to school to get his diploma. They started him back in the 3rd grade, which is the last class he was in before quitting to work on the farm and then later went into the army.
