Christopher Buckley describes his walking tour in the Dolomites and his experience on a via ferrata hike near Cortina d'Ampezzo with Anita Iaconangelo of Italian Connection. He found the walking and hiking to be challenging but rewarding during the wildflower season in the Dolomites, while the via ferrata with Anita Iaconangelo and an alpine guide was more strenuous than expected. Other highlights of the walking tour in the Dolomites were the luxury hotels such as the Ancora hotel in Cortina built in 1826 and the Hotel Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano, where he dined at the 2-star Michelin restaurant St. Hubertus. Christopher Buckley's article about Italian Connection's Wildflowers in the Dolomites walking and hiking tour is found in the March 2010 issue of ForbesLife .
I agree, boring is definitely not a word to be used in conjunction with Christopher Buckley. Despite my bloody wounds, I enjoyed his witty company for the entire wonderful week in the Dolomites.

This man is genetically incapable of being boring. He'd be the perfect dinner party guest.
