Can't get the CDI from Honda anymore. I got one from IgniTech they are in the Czech Republic. Cost me about $240 shipped. It was a direct plug in. And is programable. You can change the ign curves, and set the rev limit. GREAT product.. and well made. They took PayPal, and it was pretty easy... just google their name and you can find them. The one you need is the
SPARKER DC-CDI-P2
Glad to hear you are rebuiding one. I ahve some vids of my CDI install on my Utube page.

I have a 79 D also. I love it. Im going to put a pair of carbs on it from an 80 C. They have the acc. pump on it. I like it better because the ones on the D are hesitant. The ones from the C are not.
Great job. Superb attention to detail. You did justice to what is one of the truly neat old bikes.

@gospeed81 Thanks, I enjoyed doing it and learned a lot about the bikes.

Why did you cut the stand? I did My 78 from the ground up. Took a few weeks to get the carburators right.

@walterpoplin I had to cut the stand because it had been poorly repaired and didn't look right. I'm working on a Eurosport now, it won't be up to this standard, just trying to get it back on the road at minimal cost.
