Motorola Syntor X9000 listening to the 53.110mhz 6 meter repeater 25 Miles NE of Atlanta. The group is Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society (GARS) in Gwinnett County. I think one of the stations is coming in via Echolink from Alabama.
Yes, You can get a VHF 2 meter version for @ $100 from Ebay complete or even less. Ebay sellers can price these as high at $300-$400 which is crazy. There is a UHF 440mhz version as well. Control cables and most advanced control head can interchange which is nice also. I got my Low Band complete from Ebay for $50 shipped. I have 2 VHF Syntors. 1 in the shack and 1 in the mobile. The VHF will out perform all Icom Yaesu and Kenwood mobiles. 110w goes a long way!
