The North Carolina Zoological Park works in conjunction with several other U.S. zoos and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to support a captive population of red wolves. Three pups recently born at the NC Zoo offered an opportunity to place additional animals in the wild population, thus growing that group and expanding its genetic diversity.
