Don't get me wrong, West should not have let them get in the position where a bad call can effect the outcome of the game - but this was a real momentum changer - There were a TON of penalties in this game, the refs were very flag happy -
Lebanon had just scored, about 10 minutes left in the game down 14-30 - West was getting its offense going after it had been shut down most of the first half - West had a 3rd and 24 - West needed to score dearly -

The play was a pass from QB Orsborn out to WR Harry Reid, who then STEPPED BACK and threw it downfield to Ruckert for the apparent first down - BUT NO! Flag on the play! They said that Harry Reid had crossed the line of scrimmage before the pass -

Look at this video, I highlighed Harry at the start - unless he lined up offsides there is no way he crossed the line of scrimmage as it is clear the only movement he makes is BACKWARDS before the pass - Nyquist was LIVID and rightly so!

  • The call was a double forward pass. Not for being over the line of scrimmage when he passed the ball.

  • This Call killed our drive completely.

    (#74).
