I just started flying an alarus. Talk about an easy plane to fly! It can do great in crosswinds.

When landing these it is easy to round out too high, stall the stabilator and nose into the ground. That mangles the firewall. If that starts to happen, give it some throttle to increase airflow over the stabilator (lower angle of attack), and bring the nose up. It will probably still land really hard, but not on the nose gear.

Best little airplane ever!!

nice ! roomy cockpit eh ?

You should try IMC with the optional Sandel HSI, piece of cake is an understatement :-)

fun plane, give it flaps and reduce a little bit of power on final and the thing sinks like a rock.

Is that a bad wheel bearing, or does that thing have ATV tires?

Yeah, I'm not sure but it sure made a lot of noise when the tires rolled at speed.

It wasn't the wheels, the pilot retracted the flaps as soon as the wheels hit the ground, that loud noise is the flap actuator motor.

Well, I was the pilot - it wasn't the flaps since I didn't touch them until later. :)
