  • what kind of shit is this cartoon... I thought this was the type of cartoon john hated...

  • Well it just shows you what a giant leap forward Ren & Stimpy and Spumco was. Everything comes from somewhere and it's interesting to see the beginnings. You have to remember John and his pals were working for DIC, the worst cartoon studio ever, to make this. After this show he, Bob Camp, Lynne Naylor and Jim Smith decided to start their own studio and what they did with Ren & Stimpy raised the bar for cartoons. Some of the stories they wrote for this cartoon later became Ren & Stimpy episodes.

  • When did this new version of this old cartoon air.

  • 1988 I believe.

  • I like the way Cecil sarcastically says 'sob'!

  • @MattBL You're absolutely right! It's Maurice LaMarche!

  • Well, for a long while, these are the kind of stuff they made. You can also see them credited for many episodes of Tiny Toons (some of which feature pretty obscure DC comics references) and Animaniacs (with characters like Minerva Mink foreshadowing his *many* later "sexy girl" characters like Harley Quinn and Jingle Belle). =p

  • They also had sound effect editor Russel Brower in the credits. He was sound editor for "Tiny Toons" and the first season of "Animaniacs"

  • I'm surprised to see Paul Dini and Bruce Timm in the credits. I mean, this is about as far from the Batman cartoon as you can get.

  • I love the MacGyver thing at the end made me laugh.

  • I had a feeling that Dishonest John is voiced by Maurice LaMarche. Because he sounded like Principle Pixie Frog from MY GYM PARTNER'S A MONKEY.

  • Very well done!! I say

    will never fade away!

    Thanks.
