Used to work in a factory hog farm as a teen. Sometimes I have nightmares that I'm back...one of the most disgusting jobs I ever had, what the hell was I thinking, pressure washing farrowing crates after school while my friends were playing elsewhere, very odor intensive. Clothes and hair become one with the noxious fumes.

this is the worst conditions i have ever seen

@Deborah7R There most definatly humane ways of raising animals and using animal products. Free range farming (done the old fashioned way, in an actual pasture), old fashioned milking of a cow while sitting on a stool, letting hens lay eggs naturally when no rooster is around, etc are all humane. Animals need LOTs of clean water, fresh air, GRASS (NOT an all corn/ hormone/ antibiotic) diet to be clean and healthy. Our farming standards SUCK!!!

omg that is disgusting. WHY? omg.

GLAD I AM A VEGETARIAN THIS IS SO SAD

not a peta, vegan or vegetarian and believe in animal experimentation when it's necessary, but these standards are horrendously poor. even though I disagree with 'the peta' a lot of the time, I'd shut that down as a health inspector. an industrial pressure washer is cheap and fast; load with cheap disinfectant = instant improvement. and the level of disease and unnecessary suffering there is unacceptable. that fridge is a joke. if nothing else, that place is a significant health hazard

it's terrible!!!!! do you know that pig is the most similar animal to human? they feel like us! I really don't understand it.. how those people can torture these animals..
-
I once hauled nice healthy Smithfield pigs but occasionaly picked up loads like these, they are in your peperoni and prison food.

Animals should never be treaten cruelly. Period. But you have to realize that if you eat meat or use animal products of any kind, an animal had to be raised and die for your use. Blame the rules that make it impossible for the small family farm to survive while the factory farm thrives.
3:40 is just horrible, that poor piglet..

This is bad, That producer is on thier last leg. The barn is in shambles, the pigs dont have tumors they have puss pockets that havent been drained or cared for, the sewage pit is overflowing, plus they have no security -obviously to let in people with cameras so who knows how many diseases they have. They might as well burn the whole place down. I grew up on a hog farm and saw it all. We kept the place so clean I could sleep in the same barn as the pigs-- burn it all down its terrible.
