  • I signed up for the marines and wanted to be 0311 machien gunner. Do you need any specific requirements other than a GT score of 80 and compete the machine gunner course at school of infantry? do you need a driver lisence? My recruiter told me to give him three jobs i wanted, so can i request this as one or do i pick infantry and just hope to get this job?

  • You do not need a driver's license. You can request three, but the needs of the Marine Corps will outweigh your dream list. This being said, I got the MOS I requested, and I got the station I requested...and it's been relatively smooth sailing ever since. Good luck to you!

  • Thanks. I requested Infanty, going to boot camp august 18 and I cant wait dude. My recruiter told me infantry was full but the Gunny could get me a spot and he said once your done with school of infantry you can choose whatever infantry job u want if ur qualified and i will choose machine gunner. Hope everything goes ok

  • Be careful...Recruiters exist to sell the Marine Corps, not to give opportunities. The odds are that if you go infantry, you'll be assigned the base infantry MOS 0311. Once you arrive at SOI, there's no more guarantee, as your MOS will reflect based on - again - the needs of the Marine Corps. "Qualified" means you meet the basic requirements of an infantry Marine, so don't be surprised if you don't get exactly what you want. Carry on.

  • do those weapon mounts have some sort of damping system built in or what? seems like those weapons would rattle to pieces with all the violent vibrations if they were mounted directly on to the frame.

  • Nope, no damping. What they do have is their weight...the M2 isn't fun to carry by any stretch of the imagination.

  • i am bahamian and i can never diss america because my country depends very heavily on american tourism to drive our economy. it was america who came to our rescue when cuba bombed our defense force ship FLAMINGO. it was the US cost guard who came to our rescue when those two mail boats collided, killing four. i just wanna say semper fi.

  • @EthnoMoods

There is a shock buffer in the rear, between the spade-grips. It has 22-24 recoil absorbing disks that help prevent damage to the weapon.

  • @ieatdeadbabies101 god bless retards, you guys make me feel smarter just by hearing how stupid you are :)
