@xpledgeturnprestigex To get through the issues he had with his own father. People with the biggest daddy issues worry what kind of father/mother they would be.
He also had the kid with Juliet to honour that relationship they had.

So this is the one thing I still can't get a grip on. In real life Jack Never had a son, so why did they just fabricate one in the purgatory life? Was that really necessary?
