  • @ammazzamoro They are allowed once a year, usually a brewery exclusive ale, typically with very low ABV. Chimay Abbey produces a beer at 4.2%ABV that the monks can consume, I believe on Christmas.

  • @toecutterr6 with a benevolent grin and a tankard of this fine Bornem abbey ale. I find a quiet table at he far end of the inn, near the diamond-pattern window, and listen to the inviting crackle of the fire and the ghostly howl of a desultory wind, cheated of it's game.

  • Absolutely wonderful ale, I just ordered the chalice glassware. I feel as though I am a 14th century pilgrim on an arduous journey; highway cavalier to those met on the causeway. It is a stormy night where whipping winds and driving rains play out their contentious warfare on the land and I see, in the distance, an amber glow. The Inn (the cotswold hare) and it's keeper greet me...

  • We just tried this 6-pack - excellent beer!!!! My favorites are this Double, the Piraat, and the Gulden Draak. This CD was fun and informative to watch, especially while getting toasty on this wonderful beer.

  • Trappists don't drink alcohol.

  • This guy pretty much rules.

Sir, if you're ever passing through Maine, look me up!

    We'll share an Abbey Double.

    :)

  • You are my God Johnny
