emperor: rise of the middle kingdom - housing tutorial + play strategies part1

This first part is a how-to on the efficency housing loop. In the next two videos ill move on to ways to cheat on labor costs and such. NOTE: my wage is always set to very high and my taxes are set to outrageous...It works...trust me.

Has anyone figured out a way to make emperor work online? Couldn't find lan play, so hamachi is out I think.

@light24bulbs I have never played online. I think I tried once, but that was years ago. I don't even know how the gameplay works online, so I can't really help you there.

@AlexhandrDenthanor Humm, I just remembered, I also had all of my players make the following change. "Go to the Emperor main-directory. (usually C:\Sierra\EmperorRotMK) Look for the file "WONLobby.cfg" and open it with NOTEPAD. Set the value for "CdKeyCheck" from true to false."

After having everyone make that change, try the steps again. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.

@notacceptable I did that as well. It says either our subnet is different or that it has a failure in connection.

Also, you do not have to have your ports forwarded for this method. You have to use direct connect with this method and the hamachi ip not your public ip. I don't have the game installed any more, but I have to warn you... it often goes out of sync really bad. The game will pause for some people and then rapidly speed up, and occasionally you will be basically playing different games after an hour or so.

@AlexhandrDenthanor I haven't played in a while, so I don't remember the exact steps.

It was very picky, you had to start up hamachi and be connected... then go to control panel and disable your real network connection but leaving hamachi's enabled. Then start emperor and host a direct connect game, and once it is up, reenable your lan connection and reconnect to hamachi. At that point, all other players should join the game, select hamachi as their IP and join by IP (hamachi ip (5.x.x.x))
