I'm black and I am SOOOOOO sick of gays comparing race to sexual preference.

How is this so difficult? Either minority rights get put to popular vote or they don't. You don't get to say that "well majority rules doesn't apply to THAT minority right because I happen to support it. But THIS minority right is different because it's NOT one that I support, so majority rule applies."
Either it does, or it doesn't, NOMers. Until one of you becomes the actual center of the universe, we can give a fuck which minority rights you think should be an exception to this.

Actually the anti-gay "boo-hoo I'm a victim because I hate gay people" folks have a DEVASTATING record of harrassment, bullying and attacks on gay people-even heteros perceived to be gay. Go to the LA police website and you'll see that anti-gay hate crimes SOARED after prop 8 passed. And even today, gay kids are beaten up in their schools. And who was it that threatened to kill everybody at a Seattle gay bar last year?

You're silly! MIchelangelo Signorile is an awesome homosexual!

gurggy - you are one fart from a Brain aneurysm. Can you please explain why Brian Brown or any of the quote "Religious" people of this country have any rights to get involved in what happens in my bedroom. I and all of the GLBT community of the USA pay the same taxes as you do, so why do you get rights I don't. Our lives are not all about sex, they are about Love & Companionship. According to the Bible: Incest, Poligomy & Slavery are all allowed and encouraged, do you approve of these also ?

The laws are partly there as a deterrent to future crimes as well. I'm so fucking sick of these bible-thumpers and Republicans pretending like they're the guardians of society, like they need to protect all of us from 'the evil gays" or whoever they present as the next villain.
I'm so tired of combative ultraconservatism. It's been the bane of American society for over 200 years.

When are people in this country gonna stop trying to legislate morality? Can't people have different views on more complex issues like gay marriage without one having to impose their view on the other?? And where in the Constitution did it ever say that it's OK to codify your purely moral beliefs into law? Sure, some right-wingers say that laws against murder or pedophilia are "morality-based", but that's not the whole of the laws. The laws are also there to DO JUSTICE for the victims.

@NotoPROP8: just had a look at an abstract of that study, and the results make pretty good sense. Thanks for the recommendation ^_^
Brian Brown,
Everyone should vote on whether you can be married. And let's all vote on whether your sidekick Maggie Gallagher can be married too. Maggie and you are both making big bucks going after the rights, freedoms and the equality of gay people by demonizing gay people and lying. Shame on you.
Go practice your theocratic lifestyle choice in a theocracy.

Michelangelo gives too much airtime to anti-gay bigots. Go read the study called "The Gender belief system, authoritarianism, social dominance orientation, and heterosexuals' attitudes toward lesbians and gay men" to learn how anti-gay bigotry works. It will save you time instead of listening to these heterosexuals trying to convince that while they are taking away your rights they are not bigots (which they are).
I support gay people rights.
