naaaaaaa. he acts the complete opposite on both old and this letterman show. he usually is a happy dude even if a little weird. But I have seen the site that is asking the public for any footage caught on camera to be donated to the film maker of joaquins act. which to me says this is a project and a stunt....I think joaquin knows what hes doing.....hes an actor....no body would do this if they where ill or on drugs...he wouldnt be allowed on TV anyways...etc...guess we'll find out....

Although this has nothing to do with this episode, I always noticed Letterman kissed the hand of specific female actresses (I guess his favourite ones) ... any one else notice?

I'm with the 'he's lost it completely' camp. I know because I see a lot of myself in Joaquin. He's not acting, he's extremely uncomfortable and this is all real folks. He has always been an anti social person and I recall hearing how he was freaking out before going on stage on Oprah once. It took John Travolta having to go backstage and telling him'you're fine,' to calm him down and get him to come out. Why they booked him for 2 segments is beyond me

Definitely acting, more or less. Knowing how good an actor he can be it's not exactly surprising if he wants to fool the world. I mean, when you're that famous, why not mess around with people? :)
