Every lonely place is surrounded by legends of evil and tales of the supernatural...but on Gore-Orphanage Road there are no legends...because all the stories are true. (2006)

This is the trailer cut together from a prototype used to secure funding for the feature version of the film. The prototype is approximately twenty-four minutes long.

If anyone viewing this is capable of designing an opening title sequence for the film, please contact me. Thanks in advance.

Shot on negative super 8 stock (outdoor stock: Kodak 200sp/indoor stock: Pro 8mm 500 sp). Shot with a Minolta Autopak-8 D10.

  • Did I do this transfer .... Phil at Pro8mm ? It feels familiar If so we should re-do this in HD . Give me a call .

  • Oh yeah you did - and you did a great job, too! In fact, I'm pretty sure you've done most of my stuff. I'll have a think about the HD!

  • @astronomicafilms Got any more footage to go with the 24 minutes you already got?

  • @3baxcb Yeah, I have a lot more - but we hit a major snag when one of the main actresses (the dark-haired girl) died suddenly...none of her ADR was even started at the time, so the project is sitting there finished except for that. I keep telling myself I need to find someone else to dub her, and get this out there as a tribute to her, but my heart breaks every time I go back to this one.

  • @astronomicafilms I suppose you haven't done anything with the rest of the footage yet. This trailer still has potential to pitch it to someone who wants to produce a old-school 1970s-1980s style monster/slasher movie. Recently got one of the cameras that Pro8mm says they convert to Max 8 and have shot a test reel but am waiting to see the transfer. The reel was black and white, so if I'm lucky, I'll find out soon.

  • great job guys

  • @astronomicafilms So what other cameras does Pro 8mm convert to crystal sync motors? The usually say they only have knowledge about Canon 814 AZ, Canon 1014XLS and most of the Beaulieu but I'm curious if the Nizo, Elmo or other Minoltas can get converted as well. My sympathies that your lead actresses suddenly died. Would be nice to stay updated on whether you can finish up Scarecrow Man.

  • Sorry,We sold both Beaulieu cameras awhile back.I hope you followed up w/Pro 8mm,they are great guys.I think your film looks really good.

  • @thelonz69 How much are you looking for a Beaulieu 4008? All I know that it's one of the top of the line Super 8 cameras and has some of the most options and best features.

  • @3baxcb Yeah, the camera is crystal sync (converted by Pro 8mm), but for the life of me I can't remember that recorder was used...none of the audio was usable anyway, because of all the generators we were running for lights. Pretty much everything was ADR'd.

  • @ErikHutt I believe it would be a separate mic since super 8 sound film is all but unavailable. I'd be curious what kind of audio recorder was used and if the camera was crystal sync or not.

  • Can I ask a sort of annoying question? How many rolls did this take? I'm very interested in shooting 8mm but I don't know how some people do it with the 3 minute time limit on each roll.
