The Motif has the exact sound from this song, it's under SyCmp category called "After 1984". Select this patch in the Motif xs and add a little reverb and you're good to go

Nahh... Ya missed it. That is not orig Oberheim, it is, however, on my 1990
Ensoniq Eps16-plus. That sound had huge staying power until it was trashed back in the late 80's. Ensoniq decided to keep it a little longer i guess. Can't imagine Yamaha can't duplicate it today. Jump also starts out with heavy Oberheim fatness only; no drums.

@gbuddy180 I got the xs8 which is the biggest model, i think rounded out to $3600. But its the greatest keyboard/synth i've ever played.

Performance User 2 H04 - 80's young gun - Dreitagebart 1963 is right - it is pretty cheesy sounding - there's a great "Jump" synth sound that you can download for free from the yamaha Motifator site - the sample bank is called DCP VR sample bank, but you need DIMMS installed to run it. Hope this helps
