@lizziejm Working for the 2011 census I can inform you that it is necessary to provide your name to identify people/households who have not filled one in and also to identify duplicates (e.g. if you were staying at a friends house that day you have to be included on their census form AND you have to fill one in at your own home so in that way it avoids people being counted twice).

Fuck the census. Asking so much personal information that out of principle I refuse to answer.
Furthermore, I could consider the census a breach of my family life. The Human Rights act forbids a state from interfering in anyones family life which includes sexual preferences.
