Heavy snowfall has caused the Navajo Nation to declare a state of emergency. Reporter Alysa Landry and photographer Lucas Ian Coshenet went to see emergency crews deliver food and supplies to remote homes blocked by muddy roads.
It's great people help each other out. I'm Navajo and I still do not believe in "State of Emergency". Some need help, while mostly everyone else takes advantage of it. They all want "handouts"!!! We are supposed to be a proud, tough Nation!!! What happen to us? What about our Forefathers and Ancestors? They all made it through tough winters! We are survivors! State of Emergency is just an excuse, just for people that want free shit!
Although I am Eastern Oklahoma Choctaw, I am 100% Navajo at heart. My mission in life is to return to the Rez and advocate with Dine for equality and against poverty.
I know that guy. I've known him since he was in high school. He's always been in a position or worked a job where he has gone far beyond his job or duty.
That mud may look tame but it gets really bad the further you deeper into remote areas.
@SPS148669 I bet you do get a lot more snow!
