Real Chief Ceremony 2008 as it has been for thousands of years

This is the ceremony of the opening of Filakara latest Chief Nakamal by Chief John Supwo, Paramount Chief of the South Epi area, a large island in the Vanuatu islands group. During this same ceremony, Simon's long term adopted brother (since 1997) held Simon;s head and prounounced him and his future line of sons a birthright into the Custom line of Chiefs.
Simon Agius becomes a Chief of remote part of Vanuatu in 2008 - 600 people from a tradition, remote region of Epi Island Vanuatu witness the opening of their new Nakamal and the Initiation of Chief Simon Maniayo.
Maniayo means the Pigeon that flies high, sees far, travels far, but always returns.
The promise made to the population of South Epi independent family farm holders and organic growers was that he would ensure to find markets for their biodynamic foods.
