If you travel through the Bedford, NH toll plaza each day, you pay $1.00 per trip or 70 cents with NH EZ Pass. If you work 48 weeks a year, 5 days a week, that's $480 a year in tolls or $336 on EZ Pass. Not to mention all the other trips you may take on the Everett Turnpike.

When the new airport access road was built, the state was unable to put tolls on the road because federal money was used. It has been well documented that the state is going to lose millions of dollars a year with people now taking the new road to the airport toll free.

In the shadows of this activity are all the Merrimack residents who pay their unfair share of tolls whenever they get on or off the Everett to travel within Merrimack. 50 cents at a time, over and over again; with half the money simply covering the costs of collecting the money to begin with.

So... again and again, no one wants to throw the Merrimack residents a break on their toll burden. Yet, now there's a way for everyone to legally and quickly bypass the Bedford tolls.

It doesn't make sense. A complete sense of poor planning and poor project management.
