@revholland1 Your comment, "many are attracted to a church purely because of the music and never hear the Gospel", shows a belief that "hearing" the gospel might be dependent on the circumstances or surroundings or even the music being played. Isaiah 55:11, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." If God's word is being preached, it will be heard.

@revholland1 if the holy spirit is in the music and the singers and draws them in then where is there fault? As long as the Glory resides in that place than God will take care of them, as long as the right worship is provided around them then the Holy Spirit will be there. The goal is not entertainment but worship of God and as long as he is being worshiped under the Holy Ghost(in Spirit and in Truth) then all is good

@gooddaytoya1. Yes, you are right. It is maybe foolish to bicker over such matters and i wouldn't make such an issue the basis of fellowship with other believers. But there are other issues involved other than merely instruments per say. Do take on board that there is a big danger than many are attracted to a church purely because of the music and never hear the Gospel. It becomes mere entertainment, and that is wrong. Peoples souls are important which is why I preach on the street 3 times a wk

@gooddaytoya1. Give to God in your worship what He requires and commands and not what you think suits best. Otherwise you are offering up strange fire to the LORD as did Nadab and Abihu in Lev. 10. '..and offered strange fire before the LORD which He commanded them not.' You are not commanded, as was David and the OT, to bring into worship a whole band of musical instruments. Period.

@gooddaytoya1. Do you not understand that as far as the history of the church is concerned you are on the side of error? Your musical bands and all that goes with it not only have no basis in Scripture (we are not on about people playing in their own time or for their own pleasure) we are on about the public worship of God. That is given a special place, outside of the ordinary day to day things, as can be seen from both Testaments. You can not bring just any old things into public worship.

@gooddaytoya1. David playing before Saul was not an act of temple worship. While every part of our lives are to be an act of worship, there is a special act of corporate worship where God's people are assembled together. Such a time is unique and special. There are nine recorded instruments mentioned in the OT. Only four of those were to be permitted, none of the others were allowed. Of those 4 permitted, they were only to be played by certain people and only on certain occasions. Why was that?

@gooddaytoya1. No, you don't have to throw out the pews etc because I don't worship God with the pew, or the electricity etc. And no, it doesn't get me thinking at all. You need to do more thinking on this issue. I would encourage a deeper study on the whole matter, as well as early church history. Every blessing!
There should be a new rule that any video with Christian connections should have the comment section removed so it can just speak for itself.
