This one and "Hyde and Hare" with Bugs Bunny use to scare the shit out of me when I was a child (especially the Bugs cartoon). Heck, Daffy is CREEPY in this one!

McKimson's unit took the longest to get on board with the new Daffy characterization. His Daffy was still acting somewhat screwy even in the late 50s, even though he'd calmed down a lot by then. But I don't think he really got going with "mean and greedy" Daffy until the early 60s. (And Freleng didn't do much with Daffy at all during this period anyway, come to think of it. But he definitely started reflecting Jones's changes before McKimson did.)
