Learning this song for a little trio that we're putting together called Zeman's Folly... so we'll see.
'til then the second verse of this song has one of the best lines you have never paid attention to:
"I bronzed my shoes and hung them from the rear view mirror,
Bronzed admiration in the blind spot of regret.... "
Wow.... John is so profound in two lines... talks to our childhood.. (I know my parents had baby shoes bronzed.) our teens.. (who didn't hang something from the rearview mirror) Bronzed admiration ... (isn't everything better looking when you think back) and the blind spot of regret... (he pulls it all together by pulling the metaphor with reality... Do I care or don't I what happened in the past, maybe I just choose to put it in the blind spot.)
John is one of my heros, and he should be one of yours. period.
