It seems that Toronto voters only care what they want to hear and dont like policies that are unpopular but are in the public interest (i.e road tolls). This is why politicians who say what the voters want to hear like McGuinty and Ford keep getting elected.

@urdiub Unlike the past mayors, Rob Ford's parents are millionaires. Why again would he need to increase his wages? He has already increased taxes, cut services and plans on laying off quite a few workers(you know, all those things he wasn't going to do). If he doesn't fix the debt after all that, or at the very least decrease it, something is wrong.

Anyone noticed how Rob Ford did not increase his salary for the year? Notice how every past mayor that was voted in increased their income and all of Councillors income for the year during the first few meetings. He's not helping the social scene but he's trying to fix the debt miller put us in. Give him his term, if nothing changes then get him out of here.

Thumbs up if you DID NOT vote for this idiot. Honestly, I haven't met a single person who says they did. I'm a Toronto resident, and as far as I can tell, no one voted for the mayor... yet he's mayor. Either:
a) Ford's voting support came from people who adhere to a schedule that's strictly nocturnal, or...
b) Ford's voters are now ashamed of themselves and are keeping quiet after realizing they've voted for a politician who's antics resemble that of pre-teens having discovered alcohol's effects
