Tommy from www.BrewFanatics.com takes you through the first steps of making your own beer. In this video he shows you how to properly add the ingredients to your boiling water. Once the ingredients are fully dissolved in the water we have wort, which is basically beer before it has alcohol in it. Hope you enjoy. Cheers!

no particular temperature for the water. warm is fine, so you can get a head start on the boil. you just want to make sure the coil/fire isn't too hot to prevent any of the extract that might hit the bottom of the pot from getting burned. this could lead to some off flavors in the end product. better to add, mix completely, and then heat up.

what is the temp of the water when you are adding the malt extract? I know you said the burner is off but i was just wondering if you should keep the temp above or at a certain temp. thank you!
