This is proof that Henson's genius goes far deeper than the Muppets. The Dark Crystal was one of the greatest achievements in cinema history. Henson's story telling is on par with the greatest directors, but will never be recognized with them. Jim, your life was too short. You are missed.

It's great that Jim Henson made money and fame with the Muppets.
It would have been phenomenal if he explored the artistic, experimental side more.
Too bad he passed before he had the chance.

Well he wouldn't be a cliche regardless. You have to remember that being a hippy originally meant following your own path without any regard for cultural norms. It wasn't until the whole Peace and Love idea was hijacked by commercialism that it became a cliche.
